The Experience

Nairobi is Kenya’s biggest city both by land mass and population. It is endowed with several attractions—sites, culture, and heritage that make it a unique destination. The name 'Nairobi' comes from the Maasai phrase 'Enkare Nyrobi', meaning 'the place of cool waters'. At the heart of the city lies Nairobi National Park, established in 1946. It is the only national park in the world located within a capital city, offering a surreal experience where lions and rhinos roam against a backdrop of modern skyscrapers. Beyond the park, Nairobi is a hub of conservation and culture, hosting the world-famous David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the Giraffe Centre.

MICE Tourism

MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) has strong potential in Nairobi and across East Africa due to the region’s growing business environment, strategic location, and improving infrastructure. Nairobi serves as a regional hub with modern conference facilities, international hotels, and good air connectivity through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, making it ideal for hosting international and regional events. East Africa’s political institutions, multinational organizations, and expanding private sector further support demand for meetings and exhibitions, while nearby attractions such as national parks, beaches, and cultural sites add value through post-conference leisure tourism. With continued investment in venues, transport, and professional event management, MICE tourism can significantly boost business travel, foreign exchange earnings, and employment in the region
